Objectives

  • Accurately identify patients at risk for suicide and effectively screen.

  • Detect warning signs of at-risk patients and assess how to intervene.

  • Recognize the warning signs of mental health challenges and suicide.

  • Learn how to talk about suicide, and refer individuals to the appropriate resources.

  • Analyze three specific warning signs of suicidal ideation in physicians, distinguishing them from general signs of depression

  • Develop strategies to create a culture of well-being in healthcare settings for at-risk physicians

  • Evaluate case studies and expert consensus to illustrate key examples of physician-specific warning signs of suicidal ideation

Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, first responders, Residents/Fellows, and Medical Students from all specialties.
